Outside of college and the military, I know of no better way to make lifelong friends than playing with someone. That's what playing has meant for me, and I've had strong friendships for almost 30 years because we played together after college. Sharing the opportunity to meet, rely on, and trust another person in a serious* way is how lasting friendships come to be. And that's the core of what Gotham is.

Roger Stevenson

Founder / President

Gotham started in 2006 from a desire to play weeknight full field 11v11 matches. At that time I was playing 4-5 days a week, and when I wasn't playing I was hanging out with my teammates, drinking/watching Premier League games, going to Germany to follow the USMNT around for two weeks, traveling for our tournaments, and playing FIFA (now EA Sports FC). Sharing that passion for the beautiful game is what keeps me going and Gotham growing. Whether is continuing to play, having someone to complain about Pat Noonan's rigid adherence to his 5-3-2, or poking fun at Tottenham's perpetual mediocrity, it's the shared identity of soccer peeps that makes Gotham amazing.

Joined in 2025 after spending time on FC Cincinnati's equipment staff and a college season as a Division 3 player. Despite being (mostly) retired as a player, a passion for the game has led to an intense desire to see the it grow.
